Say goodbye to paper to-do lists

The team here at HTA Advisory have fallen in love with a relatively new cloud application called ‘Trello’, and want to share this fantastic tool with our clients.

We got pretty sick of writing down our to-do lists and having to flip through our notebooks to find things, and considering we are a paperless office, we needed to find a solution quick smart.

The solution was Trello!

Trello is a visual collaboration tool that is specifically used for organising projects. It is made up of three main components – boards, lists & cards.

Boards are used for broader categories such as ‘My To Do List’ or a certain projects name. Within each board, you can set up lists which contain separate cards – see the demo shown below:

The opportunities are endless, and you can create as many cards as necessary. Within each card, the following options are available if required:

  • Assign due dates to each task
  • Assign the task to a specific person
  • Label the card with pre-defined colours (such as Green for Completed, Red for Stuck)
  • Add checklists to each card (example shown below)
  • Add comments onto the card
  • Plus, so much more

We were amazed at how this simple (and did we mention free?) tool could transform the way we collaborate as a team. In addition to being a great internal tool, we are finding that we can use this with our clients to keep track of their quarterly priorities and projects all in one spot rather than leafing through our notebook to find the page we need.

If you would like to know more about how we use the tool in our business, please contact your business advisor at HTA, or checkout Trello’s website and sign up for free: https://trello.com.
